Hi Nick,
Recently someone has hacked onto my server where I host one of my accounts. On that account I use one of your forms and my hosting agent has suggested this is how someone has hacked into my account. Do you think this is possible? They are asking me to remove the script but I really don't want to as you know I love your forms and I need it on there! Is there anyway of either checking if it has been hacked without removing it? Any advise please would be gratefully received Nick.
form is here http://www.quote-a-limo.co.uk/limousine_quote.html

There is absolutely no possible way that anyone was able to get to your hosting account through myContactForm.com. They are two completely seperate entities on different servers. Your host suggesting that hackers somehow got to your hosting account through the basic myContactForm.com HTML that resides on your server is completely proposterous. All that is residing on your server as far as myContactForm.com goes is simple form html (there are no scripts residing on your server)...this is nothing that could be used to gain access of your hosting account. Personally, it sounds like your host is trying to pawn the blame, or really has no idea how the security breach occurred.
Best of luck,
Nick Ladd

Thank you Nick for reassuring me. To be honest, today they reset my account and when I asked for an explanation they became very snooty and I had to force them to give me an explanation, but once again they just came back with some b******t excuse about scripts again.
I am sorry to even suggest that this was a possibility, I know very little about this sprt of thing and them telling me this was the way I was hacked obviously led me to just putting this question to you.
I have told you before how fantastic these forms are and I stand by that remark and always will.
Thanks |

You certainly didn't offend me by letting me know what the host said. It simply astonishes me that a server admin would even suggest something that was impossible as the cause.
